Proud to be Pats – U14’s Charity Push for the 2017 Season
Earlier this year the club was approached by the coaching team from our U14’s squad about the possibility of them adopting a charity to support for the season.
This would involve having a kit designed in their colours which in turn would help to promote and hopefully raise funds for their chosen charity for the 2017 season. This sounded like such a great idea that the club readily agreed to support.
We are very proud to announce that the charity that has been selcted is CALM as most people know our club, players, supporters and volunteers have been affected by the devastating after affects of both mental illness and sucide, and the club is taking positives steps to improve the wellbeing of our coaches, players, parents, volunteers and supporters and have recently linked up with local Charity the Willow Project to make this happen.
We think the kit looks great and we are so proud of the efforts of Joe Charnock, Connor Farrell, Geoff Gildart and Shaun Brannan along with one of the players mum’s Joanne Charnock who has also been a driving force behind this project. We only hope that by playing in this kit our U14’s will help to raise awareness of mental health issues and the work that CALM does to help and support people in times of need.
The team would like to thank all the kit sponsors for their support in making this happen!
To add to that Shaun Brannan has also decided to complete a 12 week challenge with JSBefit and has decided to follow the teams example and raise money for CALM in the process, if you are interested in donating please visit Shauns Just Giving page.
This is an initiative that we hope to adopt moving forward with a different team participating each season. There are also collection boxes on the bar for anyone wishing to donate to CALM
